Do prices on your website include mounting & balancing?

The prices on the website do not include mounting and balancing. If you select the "Fitter Delivery" option when purchasing tires on blackcircles.ca, our team will help book your appointment at a garage and ship your tires directly to the selected garage. You will pay for mounting and balancing, as well as any other services you might need, directly at the garage on the day of your appointment, as they are not included in the price of your tires and/or wheels.

Exception: pre-mounted kits. If you order a pre-mounted kit, we mount and balance the tires on the wheels in our warehouse before shipping, for $20 per tire, added to your order. You receive complete wheels, ready to install on your vehicle yourself or by the shop of your choice. Learn more about pre-mounted kits.

Please also note that balancing is not the same thing as a wheel alignment. Alignment is not included with fitter delivery or with pre-mounted kits.

What is the difference between a wheel alignment and tire balancing?

Wheel alignment and balancing have different purposes.

Tire balancing corrects uneven weight distribution in the wheels. Unbalanced wheels can lead to vibration, excessive tire wear, suspension damage and other problems. The most significant benefit of balancing your tires is that it helps prevent premature tread wear.

Wheel alignment ensures that your wheels are set to the optimal position, which prevents abnormal tire wear. Alignment keeps your car from pulling to the right or left. It can also improve your vehicle's handling and eliminate unusual vibrations on the road.

When should you consider a wheel alignment?

If you notice any of the following, you should consider asking a garage to check your wheel alignment:

A tire that is worn on both outer edges is likely underinflated.

A tire that is worn only in the center of the tread is likely overinflated.

A tire that is worn unevenly on one side is probably the result of poor wheel alignment. This may be caused by an impact with a pothole, an uneven road surface or a curb.

Do you need a wheel alignment when installing new tires?

If you haven't noticed any of the problems mentioned above, you probably won't need a wheel alignment, but you may want to have your tires inspected to make sure everything is in order.
