GENERAL TIRES WARRANTY

General tires have been around since 1915 and are a line of tires manufactured by international tire manufacturer Continental. General tires purchased in Canada are eligible for replacement under certain conditions within the brand’s Limited Warranty and Mileage Warranty. General tire offers the following:

The General Tire Limited Warranty covers all tires purchased in Canada which are still owned by the original tire purchaser, and are new replacement tires that have been used in normal service on the vehicle they were originally purchased for, and were purchased from an authorized General Tire dealer, to a maximum of 72 months from the original date of purchase. However, it is worth noting that there is no General Tire road hazard warranty available on this line of tires.

In addition, your General tires warranty also includes a 45 day customer satisfaction trial, which applies to purchases of four or more tires (purchased as a set) and as long as you have the original purchase receipt.

All General tires are subject to a free replacement period (subject to certain conditions), within the first 12 months or first 2/32” of tread wear, whichever comes first.  If it is deemed your tire needs replacement during this time, you will receive a comparable free General tire, and mounting and balancing costs will be included. After the free replacement period, if you feel you have a warrantable claim on your General tire(s), then your tire will be assessed and if your claim is approved, then you will be charged on a pro-rated basis for the replacement(s).

In terms of the General Tire mileage warranty, the different lines of General tires are each covered by a different mileage warranty. The lines of General tires and their specific mileage warranties are listed in full on General Tire’s website at www.generaltire.ca.

If you are wondering how to claim a General Tire warranty, if you feel you have a warrantable claim, then you need to take your tires to the authorized dealer where you made your original purchase. You will need to show your original sales receipt and proof of purchase when you make your General Tire warranty claim. If you have any additional questions regarding your General Tire warranty, then please contact the General Tire warranty customer service team in Canada at 1-855-453-1962 or for full warranty details visit the website at www.generaltire.ca/car/warranty-registration/warranty.
