How can you find run-flat tires on Blackcircles.ca?

In general, there is no tire model that offers the run-flat option in every size. To find run-flat tires on our site, you have two options:

1- Enable the Run Flat filter in the search tool

2- check that the size you are looking for clearly indicates that this tire has the run-flat feature

What are Run Flat tires?

Run flat tires are designed to continue to perform for a limited amount of time, even if there is no pressure in your tire further to a puncture or a tire damage. This is a self-supporting tire that has a stiffer section of rubber in the sidewalls of the tire. This prevents it from deforming and staying in place on the rim. The disadvantage is reduced ride comfort due to the stiffness of the sidewalls.

In general, if driven cautiously and under 80 km/h, tires will be functional for up to 100 km. This is enough for the driver to get to a garage or a tire specialist to resolve the issue. Vehicles with run flat tires do not have spare tires. We can help you find the nearest garage by clicking here (www.blackcircles.ca.ca/en/garages/)

Do we need to check the pressure from run flat tires?

Yes, maintenance for run flat tires is no different than from standard tires.

Can I fit run flat tires on my vehicle if I do not have them already?

No, run flat tires can only be installed on vehicles with tire pressure monitoring systems.

How do I know if I have run flat tires on my vehicle?

Run flat tires have a "RF" on their sidewall of the tire to indicate that they use the run flat technology.
